FREDERICKSBURG INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

Participates in School Breakfast Program (SBP) and
National School Lunch Program. Both are federally-assisted meal programs
offering free and reduced-cost meals to school children. Also, offers Summer
Feeding (state program) during months of June & July, serving lunch on weekdays
(no holidays or weekends) to anyone under 18 yrs. of age. No
qualification; just show up at participating school for lunch.
GILLESPIE COUNTY MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION
Organization composed of representatives from several local churches and Christ-based nonprofits. Meets monthly. Distributes $30 HEB gift cards to those who need gasoline and/or groceries. Available through contact with pastors.

A community gathering place for
seniors of every age, providing food, fun, and fellowship in a safe, friendly,
and welcoming environment. Low-cost lunches served daily. The Golden Hub
serves as the operations center for the Meals on Wheels (MOW) program, which

Maintains a couple of on-going food-related services, including:
- Food 4 Kids - children identified by local school counselors as needing supplemental food are provided with a nutritional snack on weekends.
- Help a Senior (HAS) offers "friendly support." A volunteer establishes a one-on-one relationship with a senior in need which can be a visit, a follow-up phone call after a doctor’s appointment, a ride to the grocery store, or a ride to the food pantry.

pregnant, breastfeeding women and families with children younger than 5.

FEEDING JOHN
Program originated with the Needs Council & Holy
Ghost Lutheran Church. Meals and fellowship for seniors and the disabled;
volunteers cook meals, package, deliver and stay to visit. Offered once a
month, 3rd Sunday of month.

The Good Samaritan Center (GSC), a charitable
medical, dental, and mental-health clinic meeting critical health needs for
Gillespie County and some of our surrounding area through direct care and
community partnerships.
Our mission is to provide a safe, Christ-centered
environment that gives our patients quality, coordinated, and affordable health
care. All are welcome.
Open Mon. - Thurs. Medical clinic appointments
are scheduled from 9am to 5pm. Monday appointments are dedicated to
women's health concerns with our female Family Nurse Practitioner. All
appointments must be scheduled in advance.

(BLT), a joint project of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service,

Service (FNS). Shea Nebgen is the Family & Consumer Science (FCS) agent who
provides programming in nutrition, sewing, diabetes, child safety seats and
healthy living. Also, offers commercial food service compliance courses &
certification.
